Coffee Berry Serum?
I was wondering if Karen has considered creating a serum using coffee berry extract? It's supposed to be the most potent antioxidant available. There are a few skin care products that use it, but they're very expensive.

Or something with Astaxanthin would be great. But I think Venuceane (did I spell it right?) is one hell of an antioxidant as well.

I hadn't really thought about it much...the Venuceane is really a super anti-oxidant.
The thing that I like about the Venuceane is that it's nearly inexhaustable- so it protects against free radical damage longer than pretty much any other anti-oxidant, and it's really stable.
With that said...I haven't seen any sort of clinical study on the coffee berry extracts. From the basic research I did in the last 5 minutes it looks like it's adding a lot of polyphenols to the mix- so at first blush, it doesn't seem like anything terribly terribly unique.
I like polyphenols because of their anti-inflammatory action- but you can get some great standardized green tea extracts that provide a ton of them too (for a lot less than the coffee berry....).- so that's what we've been using in the skin care for a few years.
It looks like they're using 1% coffee berry extract in most creams- and we use at least 3% green tea, so it sort of evens out- and then goes further when you start talking about the Vitamin C, and the Venuceane in Super Serum too.

Oh I see. Wow, I didn't know that about the Venuceane. In that case, I'll probably just go back to the Super Serum once I finish the Green Tea and Aloe that I just ordered. Thanks for the info Karen.
