Self Tanner usage and tone

I applied it all over my body including face, but I would like it a bit tanner. Should I wait a day, because I see in the reviews that it deepens, or just go ahead and add another layer?
Do you apply lotion right before or right after or wait a little bit (before or after)? If the color does deepen and I don't want my face that tan, would using the microderm gel help ease on that?
Yeah, I should have spot-tested, but I was too excited! I like what I see so far, just want more intensity

Wait overnight...the manufacturer says the DHA color develops in a few hours, but IMHO it seems to deepen a bit overnight.

I'm so darn pasty I go with 2-3 coats over the course of a day, and that makes my legs look human. The erythrulose develops over a couple of days but it just sort of warms up the color a little, and takes up some of the slack from the DHA which doesn't seem to last as long.

If you get a bit too much on your face, or if you get a splotch somewhere a little lemon juice, or AHA will take care of it. You can pretty much remove it completely with AHA.

I got my package yesterday and applied the self tanner full body almost immediately (3PM or so). This morning I woke up and could tell I had beautiful color but it was very light so I applied another full body coat around 8AM. It's now 1:05PM and I am TAN!!!! It has developed into the most beautiful color ever.... it's a golden tan on me and I'm completely pleased!!!! NO orange, NO streaks and as I said on another forum, NO looking like I should be on a reality TV show!LOL!!

I will use this forever!!!! AND, best of all IMHO, NOOOOO smell!! My husband thanks you forever Karen!LOL!

Have you considered making it in a bigger size?

Thanks for the tip, I am always too lazy to wash my hands well (or just put gloves on to apply). The AHA toner took off the staining I had on my hands and under my nails.

I can see the results better this morning (compared to my control area), but I'll layer on again to get the full effect. I'll leave my face alone this time, I like the way it looks, it evened things out a bit
And yeah, I'll be stocking up
