Brand New, Need a color match PLEASE

Post by Christina1121 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 1:25 pm

So excited to have found this product and site!!

I've been using MMU for years, and still haven't found what works for me. Finding my undertones seems impossible to me sine I feel like my skin is yellowish, but my cheeks are reddish and I deal with splotchiness, large pores, oily/dry skin and uneven skin tone.

I used Bareminerals when I was younger and absolutely loved the product (not the price) until the Bismuth oxychloride (?) made me itch and break out in a rash horribly.

Then I tried EDM, and it was pretty okay.

Then I went with an Olivey color in Earthen glow minerals (Leila I think the name is) that seems almost too ashy in color for me, but I havent had the funds to change products until recently.

I was about to spend a boat load of money at EDM until a little google pointed me in this direction. Better product, great customer service, beautiful outcome?? CHECK!! I'm sold.

All I need now is to be told (yes, my hand really needs to be held as I am walked through this!! lol) what colors and recipe I should start with. PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you!!

I'll try to post a bunch of pictures in natural light & shade, and indoors.

OMG- you are as adorable as Laurie is sweet! Welcome to SN!

I think Jen is on the road at the moment- and she's really the absolute foundation mixing master, but I think I can pitch in on this one :)

I'd go with a sample kit:
http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/intro ... p-564.html
and maybe an extra baggie of peach. Most likely you're warm gold with just a smidge of olive or buttery gold (don't quote me on that though...Jen really is better at this than I am).

It looks like you have really amazing skin- the All-Purpose foundation is my favorite, but if you need a bit more oil control the Original Ivory is quite nice too.

Thank you, Karen! You all are making me blush! I'm definitely looking into your recipe advice, and also waiting to hear what Jen has to say.

I do have issues with oily skin, especially my forehead. Do you mind if I ask why the all purpose is your favorite?

Personally I like the All Purpose because I have dry skin especially in the winter...but the Original is really great for skin that is oilier. Hopefully Jen will be along over the weekend with the real recipe.
