Here's a fun game!

Post by karen » Fri Aug 01, 2008 7:58 pm

Don't quote me- but I think it was Mikie who said she grabs a few colors in the morning and just plays with them and makes them work...I was completely inspired by that, and had a lot of fun this evening!

Here's the game- close your eyes and pick any 2 colors- it helps if they're the same finish (first time I grabbed Mocha and Disco- couldn't get it to work) then design your look around them! It's a lot of fun if you're in the adventurous mood.

I ended up with Breathe, blended into Silver Lining- I like it! I did half of my lid with Breathe, and then the outer half with Silver Lining and blended like anything in the middle- then completed the look with Tarnish liner.

The next one was totally unexpected- but I'm loving it! My 2 picks were Honey and Bargain Pink (which is more of a peach color)- I blended Honey on the inner half of my lid, Bargain Pink on the outer part- then chose Bittersweet just lightly smudged on as a liner, and Highbeam as the highlight- Jen- try this one- I think you'll love it!

I was having so much fun I had to try one more...
first pick was Teal Appeal, then Bling- not something I would have put together in a million years- but I decided to try it. I did a coat of clear liner all over my lid- then applied the Teal Appeal. I took Bling, and applied it in the crease- and then mixed it with some more cream liner and used it as a liner- then smudged a bit of Basalt into the lash line about half way across. I think it's my favorite one of the evening! I did the other eye- and now I'm going out to dinner with my husband!

This game will be waaaay more fun for me when Bling and Bewitched come in the mail!

Today I played another game. It's called "take all the colors that don't really work for you and throw them all together in a jar and blend them".... that was NOT the most fun I've ever had because Bronzed Beauty just wrecked the entire mix for me. It magnifies my pores like you wouldn't believe. Glad I didn't use all of the Pretty Plum in it because it looks better on its own...

Glad samples don't cost much...

I will report back after playing the game.

Sounds like fun. Too bad I have my e/s lined up in order of tone and color.

MIne are lined up in terms of tone and color also, but I played this game this morning anyway. My variation, close your eyes and grab. I ended up with bewitched and grassroots green. This is not an easy combo to pull off, nor one I would have even tried on my own. I used Opal as an all over wash, with some in the inner corner of my eyes to open it up and provide some light and then I took the Grassroots Green and lightly used it in the inner 1/2 of my lid, used Bewitched on the outer 1/2 and blended big time in the middle,, lined 1/2 of my lower lid with Bewitched, and then dry lined the upper lid with Moss. Actually it turned out prettier than I had first imagined when I drew that combo.

I tried it!
I got Seagrass and Luxe. I did Luxe all over with Seagrass in the crease and to line. Not colours i would have put together but it did look better than i expected. I'm going to play again tomorrow! :D

I grabbed 3 colors from each area of my tray this morning and one liner. I did Wink Wink all over, Boom as a highlighter, Mink on the outer V and crease and Black Cherry as the liner. It is a very nice neutral look.

Today I pulled Sandy and Nekkid. Since this was not terribly exciting, it ended up being a Kiss'n'Tell fun pink lip day for me. This was all fine and good b/c I wore preppy pink polo today and the minimal look was perfect for it.

I did Breathe, Emerald and Opal today. I just love Breathe and Emerald combined.

It sounds like you're all getting great looks!!! I'm partial to purple and green myself- I do Breathe and Envy every once in a while.
