Should mineral binders be in clear color?

Post by colornetics » Fri Aug 15, 2008 8:53 pm

Hi:

Want to try pressing loose mineral but don't know which binders to use. Is it ok to use Jojoba oil? I notice most online site are selling the clear one. The normal store fronts like drugstore/makeup store around my area sells it in the "natural" yellow color. I don't know what is the natural color Jojoba oil! Should binders be in clear color/no color? Will the yellow/gold color "mess up" the minerals?

thanks

Straight out of the plant jojoba oil (at least the stuff that I use in the lippies) is golden, but you can get it colorless. The yellow doesn't effect the color of the shadows- but the wetness can and each pigment is a little different (which is why lippies are harder to make and clone), You can sometimes have luck with using just a little of it along with alcohol- but I like them loose- I never have to worry about the pressed cake breaking in my bag!
