booboo wrote:hey everyone, this is probably a lame question, but have been thinking so much I have got good & thoroughly confused. :geek: Is a "healthy diet" the same healthy diet for everyone? (does that make sense?), or do people have differernet needs depending on their own body? thanks :D
IMO... listen to your body...because it knows. But sometimes, listening to your body means ignoring what others - sometimes powerful others, who are allegedly experts in the field - have to say. And other times, listening to your body means you have to be very, very quiet and still, which can be challenging, too. Perhaps that is cryptic or controversial; I don't mean it to be either.

There was a book that was popular awhile ago, which got mixed reviews, called "French Women Don't Get Fat," or something like that, and it was roasted for not giving practical advice, a criticism I believe was both warranted and completely unwarranted.

Or, as my father would say, "Moderation in all things, including moderation." But similar sentiments have been attributed to Mark Twain and to Petronius, so don't take my dad's word for it...even though he's always right.

I think the biggest key, and this might be inflammatory too, is that we need to love ourselves as we are before we can love ourselves enough to love our bodies for what they are, and that is, they are temples in which we must worship, and therefore they should be treated with respect, and each person's definition of respect must differ, for each person's soul differs in the way it is incarnated. Again, for me, this is a spiritual understanding, and for others, that may be problematic, IDK, I'm just throwing in my pennies at this point, 'cause where else am I gonna spend them?....

ETA: I now eat the Paleo diet strictly and run with those slick barefoot running shoes, and I attempt to convert everyone who crosses my path into doing the same. I'm a total evangelist about the Paleo lifestyle. Suffice it to say, I'm completely on board with the low-carb thing, and in an extreme way. If I eat a potato, I consider it cheating. I'm not saying you should... I'm just saying I do, so it's clear where my personal bias lies on your original question. :)

I did the 2 hr RPM class, and it was awesome, but then I got a tummy bug and have been sick since Sunday. Today one of the other Mothers at school gave me a lecture for losing too much weight at the gym, as I haven't been able to eat all week. It was kind of funny, she was really embarrassed when she found out I had been sick all week

I am feeling kind of stressed though because I soooo didn't need to lose a week at this time of year, with christmas shopping etc.
Thank Lily. OMG two hours!!!!!! bow down and take notes ladies Congrats

Well probably closer to a billion hehe!!!

And Lily - 2 hours?!?! ARE YOU MAAAAD?! I can only dream of being that fit - 2 mins and I crack ;)
Thanks Sarah You're very kind to say. It's all hitting me now that I've done that much :? FYI I'm on facebook now Sarah. Not too sure on how to find you?????

Glad to hear you're feeling better Lillychem- the flu is no fun, especially when summer is right around the corner for you. Way to go on the 2 hour ride- you're a brave woman!
Karen it's soooo funny now to say that - have a look at my next post tehehe

Hi all

I went to my Rosemary Conley Xmas Party last night (left at 18:15 didn't get home until 01:30) GREAT Night!!!!!

I didn't win the telly, nor did I win any of the raffle prizes, but what I got was so much better and I wish you were all there!!!!!

Every year Corinne (instructor) give out certificate for certain things and last one is 'Slimmer of the Year' Award and I won!!!!!!!!! It was totally unexpected I completely forgot about it (but apparently no one else did in my group and they were all hoping for me to win  ) When Corinne called my name I walked to the dance floor and the whole room gave me a standing ovation and of course I got teary eyed. I hugged corinne, took my prize of my certificate in a photo frame saying Slimmer of the year and Karen, I got my tiara and wand with a star on the end instead of a sceptor LOL

Here's a photo of me and corinne (Yes I have already been dancing that explans the hair and yes I am wearing SN thanks for asking LOL)

My lovely short friend pam is taking the pic. She's 5ft and I'm 5ft 9" - anyone around 5ft seem to take "notsoflattering" pic of me LOL

I agree, Sarah! You really are my hero in the truest sense. I know I can do it because I have seen you work so hard and consistantly at it, even when you had small set backs. You deserve that award! And you look stunning, by the way! :D
