Jen gave you great advice.

I would like to add that if you have several base tones, just place a streak of each (undiluted) on your face (cheek/jawline works well). Try to see which one(s) are most harmonious with your skin tone. You might see that one mostly matches and one sort-of matches, while the others are way off.

For me, ebony is an almost-match, and buttery gold is a sort-of match, while warm gold looks like it doesn't work at all. So when I blended I ended up with:

9 ivory (depending on my level of tan)
1 ebony
1/4 buttery gold

You might find that you need two base colors to match your skin tone. My hunch is that you need either ebony/buttery or ebony/warm combination. Try the undiluted swatches; that helped me a lot.
