Reviews on site?
Is it me or someone posted a review on the new hair care without even using it first, based on ingredients they have a personal beef with?
This isn't really meant to start WW3 or anything, BUT is it really fair to post a review simply because you have hangups about certain ingredients?

Oh, good- it's gone. I know it's a bit officious of me and all, but it kind of flew all over me that someone would review one of the products without even USING it to trash ingredients.

Heh, that would be akin to me making a ranty review because it has hydrolyzed wheat protein and I'm allergic to wheat. Granted, it's a huge bummer for me as I'd love to try a cleansing conditioner, but I realize hydrolyzed wheat protein is the most commonly used one, as opposed to soy protein or rice protein that both do a fantastic job...but odds are someone would have issues with somewhere.
I respect everyone's viewpoint and if I were vegan or silicone free I could see being bummed out too, but I agree, there was probably a better, more tactful way to express that! And product reviews are usually reserved for actual review of use of the product...

Yes, I read the reviews every morning when I wake up. They're really important to the site- you learn from them, and I learn tons from them as well. I don't edit, change or delete them as a policy, BUT when it's clear that someone hasn't used the product that's where I draw the line. In this case, there's no way anyone has used it.
I know the ingredients in there aren't everyone's cup of tea. Legally, we don't have to declare the use of anything that's less than 1% of the formula. The silicone, wheat, and keratin are all less than 1%, but I disclosed it because it seemed really unethical to not mention it.
I'm not ever going to "win" with ingredients, I know this- someone's always allergic or opposed to something, but we have to make it out of something! The Cranberry Passionfruit is the first conditioner- I'm not sure where I'm taking this quite yet, but it seemed like a fun thing to offer.
@Superwaz- "smacks forehead"...doh! I forgot about rice protein (soy is off the list...lots of folks allergic to that one too)! I'll try to grab some other proteins in my next order.

I'm glad you took the review off. That isn't right. I would love to try that, but I have thick coarse hair. I hope you come out with some more and than I will try it. Personally I would never leave a review on something I have not tried. It just seems wrong to me.

Yeah, that's just rude (to review something you haven't even used). There are plenty of things (not on SN, but in general) that I wouldn't use based on ingredients, but that is different than giving an opinion on a product you have never even seen or used.

I was very taken aback when I read that so called review this morning. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
As someone w/ crazy reactive skin I never get upset/angry when a product won't work for me, or I don't see eye to eye w/ an ingredient. Feel free to post after you try a product.

I'm glad this was brought up
when a company like SN does its utmost to be open and straightforward even about the teeny-tiniest of ingredients, we should all try to be as decent and respectful as possible
