Help with Madison!

Post by Pomi » Sat Jul 24, 2010 1:00 pm

Hi all :D

So, I bought Madison eye shadow and still haven't found a way to make it work for me (I admit I haven't tried too hard).
What do you combine it with?
The colour is really gorgeous but I feel like it wouldn't be very flattering... Feel free to prove me wrong!!! lol
I'd love to hear your opinions on this.

Oh and another one that I'm not sure about is Cabana... Any thoughts?

For reference I'm fair-skinned (although right now I have a veeeery light tan), green/blue/grey-eyed, and brown-haired.

Thanks!

Cabana is like a richer, deeper version of Nekkid. Very lovely.

Madison - hmm, if it's too warm a colour for around the eye, it makes a gorgeously delicate cheek highlight / blush (depending on how dark you tan). There's a photo around here somewhere of Annika wearing it as a blush and it looks delightful on her. Hope that helps.

Cupcake is right, try it as a blush! After seeing Annika's pic of her wearing as a blush I tried it out and indeed it is lovely!

As a shadow I've paired it with green in the crease, kind of watermelon inspired? It looked cool! I also made sure to use something light to brighten up the inner tear duct area.

Same with Cabana. Looks good paired with a green in the crease, or if you use Highbeam as the lid color and Cabana as the outer third/crease color.

I say "a green" because I can't remember which one! My most used green is a different brand, kind of like a mix between Grassroots Green with a dash of Gator Gold. ;)

I've worn Sonic all over and then used Madison lightly around the edge, up to the crease.

I've also used a gold color like Solar on the inner half of the lid and used Madison the same way--edge and to the crease.

I creased Madison once with Flame, blended out. I third the blush option :)

I have a hard time wearing it as an eyeshadow, but it makes a great blush!!! When I wear it as a shadow I tend to crease it with Taupetastic, which makes it work.

I love winging it up/out from the crease with an otherwise neutral eye. Gives a little bit of color, flush and sparkle to my face. :)

I like wearing Madison with Tweed as a crease and outer v color. :)
