My first order with Silk Naturals

I'm sorry if this has been posted before or said before, I had to say it... Thank you Silk Naturals! Thank you Karen! I live in Australia, everything here is pretty expensive, if it's cheap it generally means it's crap. I have spent a fortune on make-up; all the high-end brands like Dior and Elizbeth Arden and Lancome and everytime I thought I'll try this less expensive product I have been so disappointed. Eyeshadows disappearing in an hour (even with a good quality primer) foundations making me break-out, bronzers caking on my skin, mascaras clumping, eye-liner running... it really felt that there was no alternative. Then one night I had a few wines, my partner was at work and I decided it was a fabulous time to go online shopping.

A site I'm a part of was talking about make-up URLs and someone mentioned Silk Naturals. It was literally the last site I checked and because the prices were so fair I ordered a lot. Yep, I went crazy. I really wasn't expecting much, just perhaps some make-up to practice with for the course I'm doing. After all it's only four dollars for an eye-shadow right, what harm? When my package arrived about two weeks later (from the US, wow really prompt postage) and I opened my little pack and saw the blue tissue paper, the foundation bag with a little ribbon, the absolutely adorable little jars, I was smitten. I told myself 'whatever, it's just packaging.' I so didn't want to get my hopes up. But when I used the make-up for the first time, I was in love!

The foundation lets my natural colors shine through but balances everything out, I don't look like I'm wearing it, I just look like I have beautiful skin. The eye-shadows last, they're so gorgeously pigmented and did I mention they last? They're super easy to blend and a dream to wear, I forget I have make-up on! The lip-gloss doesn't feel sticky or get all over my face, the perfecting powders make me glow and look so fresh! I feel so pretty wearing Silk Naturals. My partner tells me how beautiful I look and says my skin looks amazing.

I have three children so I'm really stretched for time especially in the mornings, but I can do myself up with Silk Naturals Products in about ten minutes. (Probably less but I'm slow in the mornings. =P) I can't get over the quality of the products, the ease of their application (blending is a dream!) how much they accentuate the "good." I don't feel covered up wearing it, I feel like a prettier me. Thank you so much Karen for making an affordable, beautiful range of make-up. Not only does my skin look great, it feels amazing too!

G'day! Great to have another Aussie here bubblii! Totally agree with everything - from the mega expensive cosmetics here in Australia to the fab products Karen has, and continues to make. I especially love her skincare, so if you haven't tried any of that - YOU SHOULD! It's the only thing I will put on my skin now. Totally beats the expensive (and not every effective) drugstore and Department store stuff that's available here.

Any questions about colors and stuff - just ask away. All the ladies here are super friendly and helpful - it really is a fun forum.

Hey everyone, thanks for your lovely responses! I am usually more a reader then a poster so its really nice to get such warm messages. =) I put on my make-up this morning and after a full day and cleaning my house it's still there!

A couple of questions, they've probably been asked before but since I have you ladies here... (Background info-I have fair to med skin, fair in winter, med in summer) brown eyes and blonde hair (dyed but whatever) normal to comb skin, between wrinkles and pimples-best of both worlds hehe!!)

*I got the sleep in a jar concealer (so good!) and generally my skin is fairly clear but around certain times of the month I get red splotches and break-outs, what product will help me the most in the SN range? Do you ladies have a favourite?
*Aden you mentioned the skin care range, I was looking at that and then there were so many to choose from I got lost! What products would you reccomend or are you using?
*Mascara's- I didn't try one yet I've been using the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide because its one of the few that I've found that doesn't clump and makes my lashes look glossy and lush, is there an SN equilavant? Please tell me there is!
*Lipsticks- there's so many!! I tried the gloss Summer Fling and I absolutely adore it, it's so pretty and pink. What are some of your favourite nudes either in gloss or lipstick?
*I got a perfecting powder, do I use that as well as the perfecting glow or not? And which one would I put on first? (I have Splendid)

Colleen- I got heaps, was so carried away! Not that I regret it in the slightest! I got-
*Perfect Harmony Foundation in Ivory/Buttery gold
*Beach bunny bronzer - which I actually love more then my Dior bronzer, it just looks so natural and creates such a gorgeous contour. I'm a little fair so I don't use much.
*Mineral glows in Heavenly and Angel -Heavenly is quite peachy on me, perfect for a blush and Angel is so killer pretty, it's white and shimmery/light reflecting.. so many uses!
*Eyeshadows in Idolize, Flame, Gasp, Romp, Fire and LOL (3 were free with my order, omg that was such a nice surprise!) Idolize is such a beautiful purply color, just want to wear it all the time! Romp is a bright purple, LOL is super adorable pink... I better stop or I'm never going to have this shower and get some sleep! You ladies so right about it being addictive and so affordable!

I can't answer most of your questions, tho I'm sure others will. But I can answer the mascara question. I have SN's black mascara (there are only 2, black and brown). And I really like it. It seems like it can't clump. I've never gotten it to, anyway. It glides on and highlights every lash. The wand is long and the bristles are short. It gets every lash and doesn't get back into your eye lid. It is not particularly volumizing or lengthening. BUT! Since it gets every lash, and is shiny, it makes your lashes look naturally beautiful. I have blonde lashes, so just coating them and not being heavy is perfect for me. I really really like it. And the tube lasts forever. I use it a few times a week and I've been working on one tube for 4 months. Craziness.

Sounds like you got some pretty items. As far as the free eye shadows go you get one smaller size which was the lol for a $10 purchase it is different one each week, then when you spend $30 you get another free eye shadow that you can choose from the collection and write a note in the comment section of the order. If you don't pick one than Karen will pick one for you so that is how you got the other 2 free shadows since you get one for each $30 you spend. Also there is usually a little sample in a baggie thrown in with each order. I hope I am making this clear for you. There is also a points system that you should check out. Each order earns you some points that you can use on later purchases.

For the redness try the unblush. It is a pale green color. I haven't tried it myself since I have something similar already that I use. I will be buying it when my other green concealer runs out.
