Facebookers

I've been doing some revision (ahem.. facebooking ) and it took me to the SN fan page on facebook, and it got me wondering. How many of you guys are on there? And would it be worth announcing new releases and whatnot from the fan page? I know we're all avid stalkers , but there are loads of people on there I don't recognise (one from my uni!!) from the forums.

I'm on Facebook, but didn't think to look for a SN page til today! I get the feeling the page either isn't run by Karen, or it is and she hasn't had time to update it in forever, since some of the info is clearly outdated. But it's nice to see so many fans on there!

I'm on facebook too but never looked for SN's. Guess I'll take a look today after work (looking for things on my cell is annoying).

Yes, the Facebook page is a couple of years old. Waaay back then I didn't understand FB at all- I thought it would be a flash in the pan like MySpace. So, we had these interns and they set it up. I don't actually have access to the page, so I'm not quite sure what to do. I don't tend to do too much with Facebook- I went through a real phase where I played Mafia Wars quite a bit, but now I don't check it quite as often.

It is cool to have the fans, and I like the sense of community on it, but I've been trying to chunk it down so that most of the updates and notifications are usually just here or on my blog so people don't have to jump around to see what SN is up to. It's probably worth thinking about though!

Are you a fan Karen? You could message one of the admins and ask them to add you as an admin, then you can add content etc. I think it is reasonable that you be an admin of your own business
In fact, if I were you I would ask them to add you as an admin and remove themselves, as it is kind of weird that it is set out as a business page (rather than a fan page) yet you aren't involved.
I like it when businesses use facebook, as then sales, new products etc. show up in my news feed, rather than having to go and check a separate blog/forum. I'm on this forum all the time (lol) but if I weren't I would find it easier to keep up with the facebook page rather than your blog or the website.

I agree with lilychemgirl, I love it when businesses use facebook for the exact same reasons she mentioned. However like her, I'm on this forum quite abit so I don't miss out on anything happening here, so it is not as much an issue with SN as it is with some of the other businesses whose products I use.

I am a SN Facebook Fan. I am on FB most nights and like how I get alerts when pages are updated. It would be great if you would let me know when you have updates and promotions.
