SN skincare advice please!
SN skincare advice please!
Hello everyone!
I've been browsing this page and getting really interested in SN skincare, but I could use some advice. So I'm a 24 years old swedish girl and I've had trouble with my skin for years now I can't even remember when it started since I never had any problems with my skin when I was younger, I barely even thought about it.
The biggest problem earlier has been dry, red and irritated skin but 2 months ago I started using OCM and my skin improved alot, but recently I've been getting alot of acne or something in my forehead and some one my chin, but atleast the dry skin was gone. And I've never had a problem with acne I might add.
When I look back I think it was to strong cleansers that made my skin so dry, I even tried one of my old cleansers about 2 weeks ago and my skin got instantly as dry as the sahara, incredible, no wonder my skins been so dry! But now I discontinued the OCM, wich I think after a while glogged my pores when my skin improved and now I just use a cleansig milk and a moisturizer with jojobaoil and rosehydrosol as a toner. But I still haven't got rid of the acne, could it be the jojobaoil? I've read about people breaking out from it. I've been using it for like a week now but my skin haven't really improved nor has it gotten worse, my forehead is really bumpy, with a few red spots. My skin is pretty reactive to, I easily get red so I guess I just need to start with some basic stuff. I'd really like to try some SN skincare, can anyone give me some advice on a routine and products that might work?

Re: SN skincare advice please!
The Kiss cleanser is a great gentle, foaming cleanser, I have acne prone skin and love it. There's the apricot oil too that didn't really agree with me but if dry skin's a real problem it might be worth a go? The BHA toner's pretty good for spots, and I love the AHA, but it does break some people out, I found it did that the first few days then really improved my skin. The green tea and aloe serum's perfect about 20 mins after using BHA/AHA then moisturiser, or if you're not using a -serum the Super Serum's wonderful, especially if you're prone to those annoying dry-skin-looking-flakes-but-not-flakes? If that makes any sense... I love the hemp just need to wait for the sunshine to come around again to get back to that!
Also try a sample of the luxury treatments powder to pop under your foundation (if you're using minerals) it makes skin so so so soft!
Good luck!

Ooo and the microdermabrasion cream's brilliant too but I have to wash off the residue with the Kiss Cleanser

Re: SN skincare advice please!
My skin can be quite reactive at times and has REALLY calmed down since using SN skincare. Here's my routine:
PM:
KISS Cleanser
Pore Refining Toner - I find this to be really soothing on my skin and feel like it adds moisture to it as well...I can't be without it any more!
Vit C Peptide serum
Firming Moisturizer/Intensive Moisturizer - depends on the season, I just ordered Firming to switch back to it after using Intensive for the winter
AM:
Splash face with warm water (this was never good enough for me before SN!)
Pore refining toner
Super Serum - FABULOUS stuff! It was a little strong on my skin the first time I used it so I eased into it by mixing a drop or two of Green Tea & Aloe serum in with it for a while
Firming/Intensive Moisturizer
With this skin care routine and the use of the makeup here, my skin is really happy

Oooh, that luxury powder is awesome! I mixed it 1:1 with some of my zinc powder that I had added a smidge of ebony to and use that as my primer. I will use plain luxury powder at night when I remember, and it makes my skin super soft!

you've gotten a good start here with recommendations. my 2 biggest pieces of advice are 1) sample everything before you buy full sizes (except maybe the kiss cleanser) and 2) only introduce one new product at a time, every few days.
i would say to start go with the
--kiss cleanser
--a non-acid toner (the only one on the site now is the pore refining toner, but i hope more are coming--i like all the other toners SN has had in the past a little better--that would be the pH balanced lavender toner or the floral or citrus toner concentrates)
--the bha toner (i consider this more of a "treatment" than a regular toner since it is an acid--hopefully it will be back in stock soon)
--a gentle serum like rose, oatmeal, or green tea and aloe, and
--the hemp moisturizer.
once you have a routine down, you can start adding in more stuff that has "actives" or ingredients that treat your skin in one way or another. this would be stuff like the aha toner, the firming or intensive moisturizers, other serums like vit C or super serum. i also really like the microdermabrasion cream.
if you need help with how to apply or in what order, check out this thread and this thread.
Re: SN skincare advice please!
Thanks everyone for the advice! I've been using my current skincare routine for a while now and it still haven't worked so good, still got a nice break out on my forehead and chin så I'm guessing it might be the jojobaoil causing it, so I'll give this a try and order some samples. I'll probably end ut getting samples on everything if I know myself.. but as packgal wrote I keep it simple at first
But im concerned about the kiss-cleanser it might be to stripping for me but ill give it a try maybe in combination with the ACO. Is the hemp-moisturizer really light? Does it work on skin that tend to dry sometimes or do you really need to be on the oily side? And I really wanna try some of the serums like oatmeal, aloe or rose, they seem lovely

Re: SN skincare advice please!
The oatmeals great but my skin was a bit temperamental on it. The hemp may be a little too light especially if its cold. My skin's combination but got better since I started moisturising more, and the hemp's wonderful when it's warmer, but I'd definitely give a sample a try, you'll know pretty soon if it's heavy enough. Also yesterday I used an aspirin and honey mask. I forgot how lovely they are!! For spots and dryness. I just crushed 2/3 aspirin and dissolved in a few drops of water, added a big squeeze of honey, massaged it into my face like a scrub, left it for 15 minutes then washed off, then followed with super serum and my moisturiser, lovely!!

Re: SN skincare advice please!
Just put in my first order! I got samples of the kisscleanser and a foamer bottle, ACO, microdermabraison gel, AHA, BHA and pore refining-toners, Oatmeal, rose and aloe serum, hemp, raspberry and daily defense moisturizers. I'm so excited, I can't wait!
Re: SN skincare advice please!
Finally got my stuff, so excited! I think I'm gonna start with the kisscleanser and hemp-moisturizer for a few days and if that goes well add a serum, maybe aloe and green tea. Does that sound reasonable? I'm a bit scared of the kiss-cleanser tho, hope it won't dry my skin, if it does I guess I'll just switch to ACO. Here goes
