Melange GWP request to purchase

Post by Cupcake » Thu Feb 26, 2009 6:46 pm

I'm coming to the end of my first 3g jar and only have one more left... panic panic... this colour is so *perfect* that it instantly became my go-to colour for effortless elegance. Even beloved Idolize has been shelved (temporarily). It's really clever, it darkens slightly in my crease so that it's almost like a complete 3-in-1 colour that all I need is mascara and I'm good to go.

Are we anywhere near the possibility of this being available to purchase yet? I'm not joking, this is such a fantastic colour that I can't cope with the thought of running out. Please. I am not above groveling if it'll help :D

so I know that this colour was LE, and the recipe is gone (I think....) but I LOVE it. I got it from a very gracious and generous forum member, and it is a perfect everyday colour for me.
I swatched it next to 9:59, and they are different but similar. The biggest difference is that Melange has a plum base, whereas 9:59 has a more copper base; It has the same shimmer and intensity as 9:59, but because it is more plum, it works much better for me. I am wondering what I can mix to get this colour... :( any suggestions?
or....maybe Karen....you can dupe it?
when I first got 9:59 I loved it (I still do actually) but the plum colour that you see when you look at it in the jar doesnt show up on my eyes, and it looks identical as Fete when actually applied.
so, something with the same shimmer (less actually visable sparkles, and more just shimmer - similar to the texture/finish as Fete, or the satin colours, where you can't see the individual sparklies), but just more purple/plum....
I would buy a couple if it came back for a limited release.....
pretty please? I dont think the GWP size will last long...

No chance of Melange coming back. I remember asking Karen and she said it was not possible. Something similar would be fabulous. I'd love a satiny ashen pink-lilac.

that's what I was afraid of, but maybe something similar? 9:59 is just slightly too warm for the purposes I had for it....
ah well, there are plenty of other SN purples I use, so I will be fine without it. Dreamy is sort of similar, and on the eye it is very similar in fact. It is one of my favorite SN colours. :D

I must have missed that, I don't even remember the name, do you know how long ago it was the GWP? Did anyone swatch it?

It was quite some time ago. I did a swatch somewhere but it didn't do it any justice.

That would be great.
I spent all last night swatching and trying to see what I might have that would come close, even a mix. but I dont have anything with that plum undertone, though taffeta looks similar, but darker.
I lied that dreamy is similar, it's not. I am wearing them together today and dreamy is much ligher and more lavender.
but there has to be a way to come close to a dupe by mixing some colours. I am wondering if adding more plum to 9:59 might work...I might try that. Even more interesting might be adding vivid to 9:59, that could make a very cool colour....

I've never seen that color in person, so I can't quite imagine the tones of it...but from the swatches it looks like it's similar to Idolize in depth, but needs plum? What about Idolize + Brimstone? Or Slick + Brimstone? Does it have any grey in it or is it more of a brown/plum shade?
