Help me choose the right foundation, please!

Help me choose the right foundation, please! I am pale with a pink tone as you can see and have lots of blemishes... the photo is shot in daylight.

First instinct, ebony. Maybe if you want more coverage, try the Medium and Heavy samples? Date Bait would probably make a nice finishing powder for you. It's very popular and is pretty on many skin tones, and it gives a nice healthy glow to paler skin. I am sure that Jen will have a better idea though... she's awesome with color. Maybe some Unblush (green corrector) for redness and inflammation.

When I mixed up my foundation for the first time, I got the sampler with all of the colors, and I streaked each color base undiluted on my jaw... then judged the swatches in several types of lighting. I was somewhere between ebony and buttery gold, but closer to ebony, so I ended up with primarily ebony in my mix with a dash of buttery gold to warm it up so it didn't look ashy. That seemed to work pretty well. But if you want to keep it simple, ebony will probably be close. Start by going lighter... wear it for a couple of days before you decide to darken it... would be my feedback based on my experience.

I think you will be a Peach or Ebony.

Ebony about 1 scoop color to 9 or 10 white....

Peach is one that you won't need much of it at all. I am thinking maybe 1 scoop Peach to about 15+ scoops of white. If you mix this one up as a trial, eyeball a half scoop of the Peach and add about 7 or 8 white.

My gut says Peach, because I think Ebony will wash you out too much. Peach does not come in the sample kits. You will have to purchase a sample of it seperately. All of the white samples are available in a kit form so they come with a jar and scoop. I would try Medium Coverage. Warm Gold would be the only other possibility for you.

Thank you! I'm a bit surprised about that peach, because I always use cold colours and peach must be warm? Perhaps the daylight is playing a trick in the photograph (which is horrible anyway, I don't think I look like that! ), I live in Sweden and it was late afternoon when the sun is almost at the horizon (was that right expression... ?). My legs are almost a green kind of white in the winter time :o

Now then, should I order samples of both peach and ebony? :ugeek:

Peach actually gets more on the pink side as it it lightened. There is a little yellow, but I do see some yellow in your skintone. I know when you look at the photo, or yourself in the mirror, you might see lots of pink. Some of that pink is general redness not really associated with your skintone. We want to make sure we match your foundation to you and not your rosy cheeks.

Yes,I think Peach and Ebony are great places to start. Since you are overseas, and Peach is so dark, you might want to consider ordering an extra sample pouch of the white.
