Reaction help!!!!

Post by Pomi » Sat Jan 23, 2010 5:01 pm

Please help me -- I just had a reaction for the first time of my life!!! :(

Here is what I applied to my face :
around 8PM : GT&A serum, jojoba moisturizer
around 10PM : ULTP, Lash Gel
around 10.30PM : Strawberry Spritz, let dry, ULTP, Floral Toner spritzed

... And my face started burning! I'm all red on my cheeks and around my eye area, including my eyelids. :?
This has never happened to me before. My skin normally isn't reactive/sensitive, I don't know what's going on.
Of course I washed my face right after I started feeling funny.

Can you point me out to what I shouldn't have associated?
And any ideas on healing methods? I don't want to make another stupid mistake and worsen it.

Hi Pomi,

I would send an email through the website..... The weekend can be kind of tough to get ahold of Karen. Looking at your list, I can't really pinpoint anything.

I was a little surprised at the UTLP more than once in an evening, but I don't think that would be it....... ;)

Are any of the products new to the mix?

Pomi - hugs and sympathies, reactions are not fun. I just had a look at your recent thread (asking about blackheads) and you state that you've been using the products for a couple weeks. That suggests that a contact reaction is not likely to have come from using those, or it would have happened much sooner (first time, probably).

The new products here seem to be the Strawberry Spritz and the Floral Toner.

Feel free to slap me for asking the obvious question, but did you dilute the Floral Toner enough, and was the water you diluted it with pure / distilled / otherwise clean enough for peace of mind that it wasn't the culprit here?

I'd already used the Strawberry Spritzer for a few days, same for the Floral Toner, although I was using a new batch last night, so that might be it...
I'll try it on alone to see what happens.
Thanks for pointing that out!

I'm sorry that happened.....please keep us updated. Generally it's better to email me about these things because sometimes there's information that we need to know about you that you may not want to share with everyone- that and I don't get to the forum,or read as many posts as I'd like.

Thanks for your concern, everyone.
I tried the Floral Toner alone this morning, and it went just fine, so that isn't the culprit.
I'm thinking it's the combination of the ULTP and the Floral Toner, or the Floral Toner and the Strawberry Spritz, or maybe all three of them together.
Is there any reason they could cause a reaction?

Thank God my skin isn't sensitive as many of you out there, so my face healed overnight and I'm fine now -- but I'd rather avoid any similar mistake in the future if I can find out what happened...

I don´t know if it helps you, but I noticed that the recent times I used my strawberry spritz, it gave me a flush/redness and my face was getting hot (burning only in combination with exfoliant).
I guessed it was because it was getting old, because I didn´t have that problem before.
