Trying to help a friend with color!

Post by ReneeinCarolina » Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:13 am

Hi Ladies,

In the last few weeks I have become a Silk Naturals enthusiast and have already ordered a foundation sample for my sister in another town, I already love it that much! I've received my "regular" sized foundation now and also have the eyeliners and lip glosses. Love them!! I have a clothing boutique and yesterday, one of my customers loved the way my skin looked. I am a fair brunette with blue eyes and this customer is a woman of color. She currently uses Iman Clay-5, which is a very heavy cream to powder foundation. Since I'll never use the buttery or warm golds, I'd like to give those to her to try and she would love a lighter feeling foundation. I have looked on the website to try to give her some idea of the mixing ratio, but am at a loss. She is a black woman with dark honey toned highlights. Any ideas to at least start her out? ( I also have enough of the ebony and white for her if she needs it.) She would love a more natural look, but with coverage.

Thanks so much,
Renee

It is possible she may just need one of the bases straight. Also there is no real reason why she could not be a 3 dark base to one white ratio. I guess I would start with the bases!

Renee` I am *not* affiliated in any way with SN, nor have I ever been Black, but my gut feeling would be 1:1 base/warm gold to start.

If your friend still needs darker foundation than the current three bases, this will be something for Karen's wishlist. I know there has been talk on her blog regarding foundation for darker skintones. Your friend might be a good candidate for the next additions to the foundation line.
