Poly, Lunar, Nekkid, Rebel, Hint - LOTD

Post by Phyrra » Thu Jan 07, 2010 1:39 pm

I wanted to do a blue look today and to try a new shadow technique, so I grabbed Poly and Lunar for this look.

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - in crease
Silk Naturals Poly - applied on lid with Medusa shadow brush
Silk Naturals Lunar - applied in crease with ecoTools angled crease brush
Silk Naturals Nekkid - applied to inner corners of eye with chisel detail brush, then applied to blend out the top edges of Lunar in the upper crease with the angled crease brush
Silk Naturals Rebel - applied with ecoTools highlighting brush to outer vee, then used ecoTools blending brush to blend crease colors together
Silk Naturals Hint - applied with ecoTools highlighting brush right under eyebrows
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Flipside - lower lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Electric - outer lower water line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Yeyo - inner lower water line
Gel Eyeliner in Black Out - upper lash line
Aromaleigh Lash Primer
MAC Pro Lash Mascara in Coal Black
Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara in Black

Cheeks:
Silk Naturals blush in Gemini
Silk Naturals highlighter in Crinoline
Meow Skinny Dippers in Mediuim Sphynx - to contour

Lips:
Aromaleigh Minty Coco Chip lipbalm
Silk Naturals Lipstick in XXX

This image shows where I applied the colors.

Rebel is fantastic for layering and darkening an outer vee/crease color!
And Poly is just so beautiful!

I love looking at your lotd's because you come up with color combo's that look so nice, but I would never think to put them together. :D and Gemini looks fantastic on you!

Thank you :)
I bought Gemini solely for the name, because I'm a gemini, and I was really happy that I liked it.
I also really like Crinoline. I can get away with wearing it as a blush, too.

Yay! Glad I'm not the only one who loves Crinoline as a blush :)

And yes, I'd say everyone could use a little Poly! It's such a beautiful blue.
I think a lot of people are afraid of blues because of the blue eye shadows from the 80s (at least that's why I used to shy away), but I really love incorporating blue these days.

That is exactly why I shy away, plus I am not sure if I can pull it off with my coloring. It sure looks pretty on you though.

Oh, I also wanted to let you know I now pat my eyeshadow on too and can't believe what a differene it makes in application :D Thanks!

Even makeup conservative me will wear Poly as a liner..... It is really pretty IRL (in real life). You can do it, Susan!

You don't think Poly is too cool for me? I am always a terrible judge of these things....or maybe I just put too much thought into it :?

btw Jen I am glad you told me what IRL was because I have seen that for the last few day and it was killing what it meant I kept going through sayings in my head  but I didn't want to keep asking

Susan ;)
