Taming of the Brows
I seem to have the most badly behaved brows on earth. I look at others FOTD and EOTD pics and think, how do they do that? I have my brows shaped through electrolysis, so I don't usually have many strays, but the bits that are suppose to be there refuse to lay down!
Its worse on the right side. All I can figure is that its because I sleep on that side most of the time and I guess its the eyebrow version of bed head. This morning, one single hair in my left brow was standing at attention. I'm talking 90 degree angle to my face. I plucked it. (Don't tell the woman that does my electrolysis, she doesn't allow me to pluck...lol)
In the mornings I try everything to get them to sit pretty. I've used hair spray on a toothbrush to try and glue them down. I've applied hair wax to slick em down. I've tried wetting the toothbrush in an attempt to fool them into thinking they are freshly showered. *shrug* I'm fresh out of ideas! Well except for an elmer's glue stick, and I'm betting that would peel.
Help!

DH gets a wild hair like that...it's about 1/2 longer than the others, and sticks straight out. I pluck it for him every once in a while. For me, I get mine trimmed when I get them waxed- not super short or anything, just enough so that they lay down, and I don't get "bed head". Either that or maybe a warm, damp washcloth on them could get the kinks out.

I have this problem sometimes too! I trim my eyebrows and I think that definitely helps, the longer the hairs, the crazier they get. What I do is use an eyebrow brush and brush them upwards and then cut that length off. Not sure if that made sense, but, I do think that trimming is key to having unruly eyebrows!

I third the trimming of the brows. You may have a nice shape, but to really complete the look they should be trimmed a little to tame them. And also using a good clear eyebrow mascara.
I use a brand called Sherani, its under $10 and really keeps my brows in place. I used to use clear mascara, but that just doesn't compare.

Re: Taming of the Brows
My brows have also started getting a bit more bonkers in the past few years and I now have to trim mine too - used to be that a slick of clear mascara would do to make them stay flat but no longer!!!!
I do them at home with a pair of those blunt nosed baby scissors - I brush them into the kind of shape I'd like following the direction of hair growth (so from the nose end outwards), then with a spoolie brush or old toothbrush/washed mascara wand brush the tips of the hairs up ever so slightly so I can see which ones stick out too much. I then trim off the offending length one hair at a time. Looks much nicer and definitely more polished
.
If you still feel the need to 'stick them down' (I prefer to, but it's probably just habit after all those years) then I use a dot of aloe vera gel on a spoolie brush - gives them a nice sheen too. I have also found that a smidge of the clear liner sealer also works but be careful not to use too much.

Re: Taming of the Brows
I do hardly anything with my eyebrows, haha. Once every 3 weeks or so I pluck out the hairs that are really out of shape (below, above, nose-ways... you name it). And in the inner 1/4 part of my eyebrows my hairs do not grow sideways but upwards, and I cut those off at the top so that they're in line with the rest of the brow. That's it. I don't wear any powder in it, no gels, no combing; I think they look just fine (maybe they don't if you get into the finer points of eyebrow-ology
but I'd rather just keep it this way).

Re: Taming of the Brows
I tweeze mine (lot less than I used to, just keep the random ones away) and cut the corner top when it's needed. To tame them, I use the clear liner sealer with a liner brush, and lightly go through it with a spoolie. I heard others use the clear lippie instead of the line sealer. I used to use a clear brow tamer liquid in a mascara tube before (the brand escapes me, but it was popular), but it was always sticky. Other companies have colored wax, but I could never find a good match. I've been using the same for over a year now, and I like what it does

Re: Taming of the Brows
I use the clear lash/brow mascara from ELF and that seems to work.
I just had a thought, you know how some lip glosses are really super sticky, I wonder if a clear sticky lip gloss would work for taming brows?

Yeah - I have a lipglass that feels like glue to my lips (ew) but I think your eyebrows would stay the way they are if you set them with that stuff, even if you would cross a tornado!

Thanks ladies! I'm gonna have to just bite the bullet and trim. I'll keep the liner sealer in mind too! It was on my wishlist anyway. My brows must have heard the elmers comment though, they layed down just sweet as anything this morning. Hmmm...maybe if I just lay the brow snippers on the counter each morning?????
