I'm an NW15/EDM Sandy Fair/EDM Golden Fair and would love some help choosing a base or two to begin my mixing experiments with. Generally, foundations land in two categories for me: too yellow or too pink, most are also too dark. I've attached two pictures of me, to give you an idea.
Thank you for your help.

I think you are best to start with Ebony........However, your coloring looks very similar to our Cupcake and she uses Buttery Gold if I am correct. Once you start lightening the bases as fair as yourself, the colors shift slightly......AgnesONutter wrote:I'm an NW15/EDM Sandy Fair/EDM Golden Fair and would love some help choosing a base or two to begin my mixing experiments with. 1:10 in Ebony, probably about 1:16 in Buttery Gold........it may turn out that a mix of the two is just right.....
Definitely wait for input from Cupcake, though.

Re: Another foundation help...
Yeah, half way between Sandy Fair and Golden Fair, and a wee bit lighter. I started off twiddling about but in the end it worked out that two good scoops of Buttery Gold to a bag of Medium Ivory worked great for me. (happy to compare notes... but I just woke up and the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet
)

Right I'm awake. I love coffee.
Another recipe I like is one f/s bag of Medium Ivory, one f/s bag of the Zinc (sunscreen, but we can't really say that officially) Finishing powder and 5-6 scoops of Buttery Gold. Give it a good shake together to mix and you've got a great all-in-one foundation and sunscreen with all the goodness of that creamy-feeling zinc protecting your skin.
If you find that you have an off day and look a bit washed out, rather than adding ebony, a dusting of Date Bait (pink bronze) finishing powder (or add a bit into the foundation mix) does wonders. I yearned for a 'pick me up' complexion booster and this works wonders.
The gold in Tempt Tryst and Liberty Perfecting Glow is amazing against the golden tones in the skin. It really brings them out. Try a sample of each as the texture and finish is quite different. I also like a little touch of Crystal - it's like a baby pink version of Tempt Tryst - and it has the effect of the Prescriptives Magic line that imparts a touch of ultra-fine pink shimmer through the skincare and cosmetics to 'lift up' a sallow or less-than-radiant complextion.
A couple sample orders and a couple quiet afternoons to play and you'll very quickly get the hang of mixing and matching and be able to just throw things together on sight to suit you. Have fun (and buy Idolize. hehe. Everyone needs Idolize).
