AHA and BHA Shelf Life?

Post by fluttershy » Thu Jan 09, 2014 12:56 pm

I know it says the shelf life for these products is 6 months - 1 year... I've had mine since July and I don't know if it's just I'm not noticing any changes, but how would I even know if they've hit their limit? I use such a small amount that I have 2/3rds of each bottle left!

I would keep them a year. It may be that it is time to up the frequency a little. How often do you use them?

Maybe 3-4 times a week - I kept my little sample dropper bottle for each and have just been refilling them from the large bottle because I use maybe 6-7 drops on my face each time.

Maybe try 2 days on, one day off. I know I have to use it more frequently after I have been using it for a while. I think my teenage daughter uses the BHA every night.

I cut back because I started using Adapalene, and I figured that was a bit too much exfoliation, but I can try slowly introducing more back in!

The pH of the AHA will drop over time- so it will get more stingy after about 6 months. It's fine, but it definitely has more of a bite to it. BHA should be fine for a while.
