Happy thoughts to the flood zone

Post by Xarata » Thu Sep 08, 2011 11:21 pm

Bob and I are fine, but the flooding here in central PA (from tropical storm Lee) has caused at least 3 deaths, and 2 bison were euthanized/shot because they couldn't be rescued from drowning at the zoo in Hershey. Many friends have been evacuated and others stranded away from home as the rising waters claim homes and cars. Many evacuated areas have had the power turned off (to prevent electrical currents in the floodwaters) and are on boil water and water conservation alerts. Cross your crossables and happy thoughts for the rain to stop and homes and families to recover from this.

I was holding my breath thinking about you and Bob- I'm very glad to hear that you're ok. I hope all of your loved ones are safe and sound, and that the cleanup is quick. NOT FUN- I can't imagine what everyone is going through because that 3 inches we had in our garage was pretty terrible.

All the best to you and yours, and to everyone effected by this event. It is frightening to behold.
The awesome power of water!
I hope there is sufficient aid, both public and private, to help them pull through.
Many many positive vibes to all :P

I'm glad to know that you and Bob are ok, Sam. I will keep PA in my thoughts and prayers. Now if they could just redirect that rain to Texas to help with fires, it would be wonderful. I have a friend that lives 35 miles from Basdorf and had to evacuate last week due to the fire. She is back home, but the fire literally stopped at the road that she turns on to go to her house.
That being said, I'm keeping not only PA but every state that is suffering from severe natural disasters in my thoughts and prayers right now,the devastation that they have all called in horrible.

My town as the river crested Friday afternoon. Usually at this time of year the river level is so low you can practically wade across in many places.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those that are being affected by all disasters whether natural or an ignorant accident  .
It seems as if Mother Nature is just unleasing all kinds of her fury all over the place.
