Testing, board approval

Post by goldentomato » Thu Dec 21, 2017 12:55 am

Hi, I'm new to Silk Naturals and am really loving the selection and prices! I have a few questions about the brand - hopefully this is the right place to post! I was wondering what sort of testing is done on the products? In particular the eyeshadows and lipsticks? Also wondering if there is some sort of cosmetic approval board that the ingredients/formulations/products (of all companies, not just SN) have to go through in order to be sold in a similar fashion to the FDA and medications. Thanks!

There is no regulation board for cosmetics in the US. They are not regulated like drugs are. Ingredients are purchased from reliable sources and manufactured by (gloved!) hand using very clean practices. Since it is not regulated, we can offer our products at the prices you see. We do not test on animals, either.

As for the testing done by us, it is mostly done on the skin care products to be sure they are not harboring bacteria.
