eye shadow for brown/olive green/gray eyes?

My eyes look like a medium brown from even 2 feet away, but they actually have a lot of olive green in them with a thick medium-dark gray rim around the iris. I'd like to use eye shadow/liner colors to bring out the green and gray in my eyes. I'm a cool-toned, light-skinned gal with medium brown &am...

Re: Lippie Help, Please

Sounds like Seedy may just work for you: it's sheer, so you can make it lighter or darker if you want, and it's definitely more darker in tone than Wistaria (my current go-to blue pink). I like Hibiscus, but I usually layer it under Shrieking Violet for the full effect and don't wear it by itself. ...

Re: oh, Man.....I don't know what to say

Oh, my, Laurie, what an overwhelming situation! The possibility of losing a parent is so scary for kids, as is of course the possibility of losing a child for the parent. I hope your friend's family will be able to draw together in this time of crisis. In my own experience having friends who I knew ...

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......

I would say the blue is worth a try. I have not come across this before, so I can't be of much help, other than add the blue in slowly. It does contain ultramarines, so the Royal eyeshadow itself is not lip safe. And almost all blue color correctors are colored with ultramarines, too, and the Royal...

Re: Lippie Help, Please

I wonder if Seedy might be just what I'm looking for ;) I'm liking Wistaria except that it's too light for me (I'm wearing it over something that's too dark and together they're great, lol) and I prefer minimal or no shimmer and like sheers. I do best in colors that are right in the middle -- not to...

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......

I'm having difficulty hitting the nail on the head with my foundation formula. All Ebony in Ivory gives me a slightly pink/grey cast after a few hours. Trying 1 Ebony: 1/2 Olive: 15 Ivory was too light -- I added a bit more Olive and it was too dark -- I dumped in the leftover 1 Ebony:9 Ivory that I...

Re: oh, Man.....I don't know what to say

Laurie, it sounds like you are a really good friend. I'm sorry to hear that your friend's husband's diagnosis was confirmed. One thing that I found helpful when I was diagnosed with melanoma is an essay by Stephan Jay Gould called "The Median Isn't the Message." It's posted on the web at h...

Re: applying mineral makeup

Rosy1 you will have to do touch ups if you blow your nose and wipe it away. I have not found any foundation that stays. And it you glasses remove your MU touch up there too. HTH :) :) LOL, doesn't that make sense! So, carry makeup with me everywhere and run off to the bathroom every time I have to ...

Re: applying mineral makeup

Some more questions I thought of -- When wearing glasses, what do you do about the dents that form in your makeup where your glasses rest on your nose? And what about blowing your nose? I had to blow my nose and a lot of my makeup came off between my nose and my lip. Since the color of my skin isn't...
