Re: more muted one-color washes?

I have noticed the type of brush makes a difference, also. Some brushes pick up so much pigment. For sheer looks, I would recommend taklon or synthetic 'cat's toungue' shaped brush. Yeah, they definitely do :) I have tried the crease brush, the concealer brush, and the Ultimate Eye Shadow brush, bu...

Champagne liquid gloss vs Monarch

Both seem to be a sheer shade of gold, with Monarch described as also with hints of copper and pink. What's the difference effect-wise? I wonder... Anyone? :?

Re: Karen -- re: HD finishing powder

I was actually on the verge of asking if SN wants to do something like this...! Can I chip in and ask for a version that works for dry skin? I just tried a sample from Aromaleigh yesterday -- and dismayed to discover that it's just pure silica powder with a fancy name -- and it overdried my skin and...

Re: more muted one-color washes?

Mmmm... new discovery here: Applying them with your fingertip (a trick I picked up from Bobbi Brown's first makeup book years ago), and you get a very sheer and pretty layer not achievable with brushes. : )

Re: LIP PENCILS?!?

I'm... fourth(?) the lip pencil request? For some very mysterious reasons, I've been wanting to use lip pencils lately. I haven't used one in perhaps 8 or 9 years, but I so want it now!!

Re: more muted one-color washes?

I forgot to mention -- all of the latest issues that I scanned from, which are either a September or an October issue, include a makeup feature teaching readers how to transition their makeup from summer to fall. You can see that even the "darker" fall makeup looks are still very light and...

Re: more muted one-color washes?

Hey guys -- Sorry this has taken so long. Some things happened and I had to put this on hold for over a week... but it's finally done! Here it is: http://beaintaipei.vox.com/ I'll continue to update every now and then, and when I do, I'll post links to the new scans on my Vox, so if you'd like to fo...

Re: more muted one-color washes?

Hi, Jen : ) I hope you had a great weekend -- it kind of pains me to see you working the forum when everyone's supposed to be off! A little update on the Brit situation -- similar makeup style and palette is seen worn by more mature women as well, as attested by this update from the London Fashion W...

Re: more muted one-color washes?

Some updates on the scanning thing... I've completed scanning the magazines I plucked out of my own collection and been looking for a proper place to store the pictures. Flickr's upload limit is somewhat too strict, yet browsing on Picasa isn't as convenient as on Flickr because you can't switch bet...

The EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database?

I've wanted to mention this for ages -- has SN signed up with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics yet? Because that's what it takes to have SN products extensively reviewed in the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database. I find this important because people who check out the database are mostly likely the kind...
