Ithaca went crazy this week because Cornell's basketball team made it to the NCAA playoffs. They lost last night, but the party continues! In honor of an Ivy League school making it to March Madness we're having a contest on the blog. It's a basic trivia contest...

Having spent years of my life doing problem sets, I'm in the habit of showing my thought processes.

Yes, Name that Tune is evil...mainly because there's an iphone app that will guess songs for you, and it's very good. So, when I make the contest I have to pick a couple of songs that are so obscure the iphone doesn't register them. I don't think anyone actually uses that app, but we do it to keep it fair because I figure someone will some day. That, and my aunt and uncle own a music store- we're all a bunch of uber band geeks.

I have to edit your post Extremer...but yeah, you about tripled my personal knowledge of physics. They made the psychology majors take a lot of statistics and biology classes, but for some reason physics just doesn't stick in my brain. It's like I have the wrong kind of mental Velcro or something. DH has the same thing with biology- he's totally fine with special relativity, but the idea that a tomato is a fruit just floors him. We both look at each other like "How do you not grasp that..it's the simplest thing in the world."

Thanks for having a contest Karen! I really had to jog my memory and use what little I remember from chemistry. I guess those classes came in handy after all

I think this would be way more hilarious if you had to solve the cube in under 3 minutes to earn each free drink.
After a few rounds... that cube might be a little trickier?

That was a fun contest I think though that you will find you get quite a few correct entries (or maybe I am the only one who is bad enough to enlist the help of google? Does that count as cheating?)
