Hi everyone. I'm new to SN and recently got the foundation starter kit in Ebony, because from the description I thought it was a good fit for my very pale, pinkish complexion. Well, I'm having one heck of a time getting it to match my skin. It always seems to muddy on my face, even thought its ultra light right now, 12:1 I believe. I thought if I posted some pics maybe someone could let me know if I should be using a different color (maybe buttery gold? I dunno, I am really pink, lol). So here they are:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I love the texture of this stuff, and it makes my skin look flawless. Just cant seem to get the color ratio correct and wondering if I need some sort of yellow-y base in there too. Thanks!

I don't see a good deal of pink in the first pic or the chest area of the second pic. I am wondering if some of the pink could be irritation? If I were judging by the first pic, I would have probably chosen Warm Gold. I think I would give it about a 1:12+ ratio. I do think the Ebony is a little too brown for you.

You could be right. Only my face is pink, everywhere else is a really nice creamy ivory color. I am about to place another order so I'll try warm gold. Now I'm sad I used all my original ivory with the ebony trying to get the right color!

Hi I'm new here and am seeking my best shade. Currently I use Warm-Medium (Concealing fomula) from Buff'd cosmetics and Manx 4 (Pampered Puss) from Meow Cosmetics. These are OK but I still need more coverage so that I now ordered a Silk Naturals' foundation kit. I'm Japanese and my face tends to be red in warm temperture. Hope you can help "my" recipe.

Based upon your previous matches, I would try Buttery Gold at about a 1 scoop color to 4 or 5 white. Let me know how this goes, because we can alter this a little if the color is not quite right. The other thing....we probably don't want to match the red at all. It is just your skin's natural flush and not part of your skintone.

I want to make a purchase but I don't know where to start!
I am currently using Bare Minerals Foundation in Light. It is causing me to break out and itch... I am looking for a new mineral foundation and I'm glad to have found this!!

I am on accutant now but so my skin is not that oily as before... but I do have breakouts and brown scars.

Please help me on what to get...
1) I want to get foundation (Pls tell me how to mix to get a similar color to BM's Light)
2) A finishing powder (I saw some ppl mixing the finishing powder into their foundation... so... how do I use SN's finishing powder again?)
3) Concealer to cover my acne and the brown scars (Do I buy the concealer or do I get the Medium coverage Ivory powder?)

1. I think BE Light is kind of yellow, right? I would try Buttery Gold at about 1 scoop color to about 7 or 8 white. I usually hesitate to recommend a specific recipe for past BE wearers as they have very limited color choices. If it was a good match for you, I think the Buttery Gold will work. Otherwise, your best bet is a sample kit.
2. You can use finishing powder just like you would have used it in the past. I think most use it that way. There are a few who mix it in foundation just to change the finish a bit and save a step.
3. For concealer, I would just try the foundation with a concealer brush first. You could try the ones we have premixed, but those are generally color correctors or for under eyes. If the foundation did not cover well enough, you could try mixing one at about the same ratio as your foundation but with the next heavier coverage.

Hi, I was just wondering - is there a sample size of the All Purpose Ivory foundation *only*? Without any jars, etc..
Also, I have a sample medium coverage foundation *only* in my cart (no jars, scoops, etc), but I can't remember where I found it - can someone link me to this?

I don't think we have an All Purpose sample only listed. If it is something you want, you may want to email, and ask if you can order a Vegan and asl for an All Purpose substitution.
