full strength? you mean not use Ivory for color swatches?

yes. If you put a little bit of each color base full strength in small spots, it is easier to tell which one will match best. They will definitely be darker than your skin, but the one that will match the best match will have similar colors to your skin. Then you take the best match as far as colors and lighten it to make your shade.

If this makes more sense:
In Olive, I guessed the ratio to be 1 scoop color to 6 white.
In Buttery Gold and Warm Gold, try 1 scoop color with 2 scoops white.

leaper, you have a gorgeous complexion, do you even need foundation? :)
Goodluck with the mix.
I'm a Buttery Gold myself and it's too yellow for you :)

Thanks :D I don't like wearing makeup everyday, sometimes I just slap on some moisturizer then I'm out of the house... But sometimes I like to wear foundation when I'm going somewhere special or working for a couple of hours.

Hmmm... maybe I can add something to the Buttery Gold to make it less yellow. I don't want to waste it but I don't know anyone who can use it either. Most of my friends here don't want to bother with MMU

ok :D will try that with what I have here (Buttery Gold, Warm Gold & Ebony) ---- if no matches, then I'm ordering Olive :P

Okay, so I've found my match (10 medium coverage : 1 warm gold : 1 buttery gold), but I'm stuck on how to make a full batch of it, since I don't want to be sitting at my vanity scooping forever. From what I've calculated, since the full-sized baggies of fdn come with 1 tbsp of product and 1 tbsp is 3 tsp, I'd need 9.6 scoops of warm gold and 9.6 scoops of buttery gold (since 1 scoop is 1/32 tsp) to each full bag of fdn. This sounds kind of crazy to me (dang my ratio not being a number that's easy to work with!) and I was just hoping someone could confirm that a total of 19.2 scoops of colour to a tbsp of fdn isn't absolutely insane for the ratio I'm trying to go for. I'm going to need a VERY large sifter jar...

My suggestion is to use a larger spoon from your kitchen. A quarter teaspoon should do it. Use the same ratio.

Or you can do it the way you have suggested and hope that the foundation baggie is not over or short by a little.

Hi all.. I've never used SN foundation before - I use EDM's in Golden Light (the semi-matte is perfect and the heavier intensive is slightly too orangey) and am wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to whether buttery gold or warm gold would closely match this? I'm going to go with the original ivory formula and sample the glow to add as well as I don't like really matte foundation, and I don't like it heavy either - I loved the original glow formula in EDM but it didn't help my T-zone which is prone to oilyness and was just a bit too glowy. Does the SN original ivory cause more oilyness?

I wish I could narrow down how the foundation will perform. I think the only way to really know is give to it a try. For color, I think Buttery Gold is your best bet. Also, the blend of Original and Glow for you white will be similar in finish to OG. I think I good starting place for you will be 1 scoop Buttery to about 8 or 9 white. I would not try more than three scoops of the white as Glow until you have a chance to try it at that level. Your final ratio would look like this: 1Buttery:3Glow:5 or 6 Original.

Thanks Jen! I will definitely give that a try! :D

How long does the perfect harmony sample kit last you?

and this might sound VERY dumb, but what do you do when that finishes? The full size kit seems to have just the ivory base! Are there full sizes of the tinted bases as well?

Everything is availble individually because some need more color base than others. And some just pretty much need white. ;)

Full size kits include a full size pouch of white and full size pouch a color along with a scoop and jar. Each type of full size pouch can be purchased on its own, too, as a refill. Link to the refill page.......
