Yay for everything starting to healing up well! Lucky that you went in to the ER when you did and they caught what was wrong.
Crazy to think that something so awful could be going on in your body and not override your pain tolerance! Not sure what other health issues you may have, but I've been told people with chronic pain disorders tend to have a higher pain tolerance than most due to coping with that constant hum of pain in the background of their daily lives. Sometimes that can be a dangerous thing! Gotten me in trouble on more than one occasion...

Go easy on those walls, you'll be out and about soon!

I do live with chronic pain due to Sjogren's Syndrome, but on top of that I've always had a freakishly high tolerance for pain.
After this scare, my doctor convinced me to start taking something stronger than Aleve to relieve chronic pain so that I am not so indifferent to it & have some clue when I should be worried. I guess when you are used to living every day at a level 6 or 7 of pain, an 8 makes little difference to you. (FWIW - I put child birth at 9 since that is supposed to be close to the worst pain, pleurisy + gall bladder w/ gall stones lodged in the bile duct at 8).
At least I know I am not the only one who who gets herself into trouble by disregarding pain.
